Investment Seminar in Daegu

The Embassy of Nepal in a joint collaboration with the Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industries organized a one-day seminar on “Investment Opportunities in Nepal” at J’s Hotel in Daegu Metropolitan City on July 17, 2012. The Seminar was attended by 100 recognized companies’ senior officials and representatives in Daegu. Mr. Kwon Ki-il, Chairman of Daegu Metropolitan City Council for Economy and transportation inaugurated the seminar. Mr. Song Sang-soo, Executive Director of Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Mr. Chiwoo Lee, Executive Director of PHC Valeo and Mr. Gi il Hyeong, Division Chief of Daesung Group also spoke in the seminar. The Honourary Consul of Nepal in Daegu Professor Dr. Sung Do Yoon was also present during the programme. Mr. Raja Ram Bartaula, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Nepal presented paper on “Investment Opportunities in Nepal.” Emphasizing on the Investment Year 2012 and Government’s announcement of priority projects, he requested them to consider Nepal as an investment destination and assured the potential investors for additional facilities and incentives for their investment in 2012. During the presentation, he also highlighted the investment friendly policy pursued by the Government of Nepal, and the salient features of the Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act 1992. Nepal as a transit corridor between the Asia’s two rising economies China and India, the Korean investors investment in Nepal also have the access of extending markets for their products outer the periphery of Nepal, said Bartaula in the seminar. Requesting for Korean investment in Hydropower, infrastructure, Agriculture, IT, Tourism and mining sectors, Mr. Bartaula assured the potential Korean investors for the safety of the capital and its return.
